Gleneagles Equestrian Centre
Interteams Sponsored By Equi Ads

Horse Jumping The Equi-Ads senior Inter-Club Team Showjumping competition took place at the Gleneagles Equestrian Center on June the 3rd 2001.

The competitors were for the most part from local riding and Pony Clubs, thoroughly enjoyed being able to compete again after the long layoff due to the Foot & Mouth restrictions.

Equiads

The event was generously sponsored by Equi-Ads, the Equestrian Advertiser.

The organisers were delighted to welcome Sandy McEwan to make the presentations to the winners of each class who received beautiful blue, green and maroon rosettes.

Horse Jumping

Horse JumpingCaroline McCloy of Scottish Horse & Pet Supplies presented very generous vouchers to the three winning teams. The Classes were very hotly contested, particularly the intermediate and open Classes. In the Novice Class went 5 went through to the second round without faults. The second round was over a raised course against the clock after which Strathearn Riding Club Team A came out the very worthy winners.

Horse Jumping
The most popular Class of the day was the intermediate which produced three teams on "Clear Rounds" and three on 4 Faults to tackle course builder's Graham Patterson's testing Jump off track.

West Perthshire Branch of the Pony Club A Team produced excellent Jump off rounds to record the best of the two Double Clears in the competition, the other was produced by West Perthshire B Team which took them into second place. The Fife Riding Club's "Crazy Bunch" came in close behind in third place.

Success For Strathearn Riding Club

Three teams came forward to jump the challenging Open Track. Two teams went into the Jump off tied on Four faults, Strathearn Pony Club and Strathmore and District Riding Club. After some exciting Show jumping, Strathearn Pony Club produced the best score to take the honours with Strathore a very worthy second.

The organisers would like to thank Sandy McEwan of Equi-Ads and Caroline McCloy of Scottish Horse & Pet Supplies for their very generous support.

Thanks also to Jean Patterson who judged the event and David Ferguson our intrepid Stuart.
