Scottish Showjumping Riders
Joanna Storrie

Joanna Storrie a familiar name to many within the show jumping circuit bids her friends and colleague's in Scotland, adieu! At the age of just 21, Joanna has already made her mark on the National BSJA circuit over the years.

First competing BSJA as a junior, on her pony "Talisman Way" she has moved on to reach heights that can only be but admired. Joanna has very successfully taken on the rides of several horses during her career, including her own show jumping Nimmerdor son, Nethersmuir Outlaw, known to many as Marco, and currently Giro Tiller and Manyanha a daughter of well known show jumping sire Secundus.

Her accomplishments as a young show jumping rider are remarkable. In 1998 at the age of just 18, Joanna was the only Scottish rider to have qualified for the Young Show Jumpers final held at Olympia and despite a short show jumping term this year affected by the foot and mouth crisis, Joanna now 21, has once again but for the last time been able to win her place at this prestigious event as a young rider, on her ever faithful and remarkable steed, Giro Tiller.

Talent, ambition and determination have led Joanna to reach for the top and surprisingly those efforts have not gone unnoticed. She has now gained an excellent opportunity to work in a competition yard, owned by Equine Dentist Mr Bob Livock, located in Wiltshire, in England, where she will be training and competing Mr Livock's horses

"I have been fortunate to have had some wonderful teachers, Sandra Low Mitchel Ron Brady, Ernest Dillon, and to name but a few. I have learned a great deal and feel lucky to have been able to learn from them. They have been very supportive over the years and I would very much like to thank them all." Says Joanna.

Needless to say Joanna is looking forwards to her new job but expressed that she is going to miss them all but knows that she is all too likely to meet up with them from time to time in the arenas down south!
