Sylvia and Quincey |
Sylvia Loch Founder Of The Classical Riding ClubAuthor teacher of Classical riding resides in the heart of the Scottish borders. Her home Eden Hall near Kelso, sits nestled on a hillside overlooking the beautiful Scottish Landscape. Truly a wonderful setting to become at one with your horse under the careful tuition and attentive eye of one of the worlds remarkable authors of Classical Riding. Just a few hours spent with Sylvia, demonstrates quite clearly that "less is more" Sylvia rides with a remarkable stillness that can only be but admired. However not only does Sylvia have the talent to put what she writes into practice but also has the ability to teach these wonderful skills to her students. |

Her success with her horses is quite easily understood. The emphasis being on praise, reward and respect at all times for what the horse offers us.. Sylvia's horses and the horses that Sylvia works with quite clearly love and respect her for her patient and kind ways, both on the ground and in the saddle. |

Sylvia has great aptitude at passing on her vast in-depth knowledge and understanding of the biomechanics of the horse. She explains to her students how riders position and seat can improve or restrict a horses movement. There is much emphasis on the riders seat and encourages her students to focus on their own balance, in order that their horse can move freely in balance and harmony with his rider. Something that the great equestrian masters of times gone by studied century after century. |
