After sweeping the boards at the Scottish Area Qualifiers horses and riders from the North East Riding Club (NERC) are set to represent the North of Scotland at the British Riding Club Championships in Lincoln this September.

Two teams, totalling eight horses and riders are heading off to England to compete alongside the country’s top Riding Club teams at dressage and showjumping. Team organiser Catherine Stott said: ‘We are delighted to be sending such strong representation from the North East. This has been a brilliant year for the club with wins in both the Open and Novice dressage, the Equitation jumping and the Novice Showjumping’.

‘NERC has had unprecedented success at this year’s Area Qualifiers and we’re all looking forward to competing on a national stage’.

Over 900 horses will be competing at Lincolnshire on the weekend of 13/14 September, travelling from England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland. Team members are helping to raise the £3,000 needed for the long trip south. Catherine added: ‘While the club is happy to fund raise whatever is necessary to send the teams off to represent the area we are actively seeking local sponsors to help with the cost.’
